There is plenty of grassy hillside to sit and relax beside the pool, but theres nothing like taking a dip! For those looking for something a bit more straightforward than the Climbers Traverse, theres always the Three Tarns approach. Once on it however, it's a lot more protected than you'd expect. Once back down at the tarn, we started the journey back to Langdale and followed the course of Stickle Ghyll through some quite astoundingly beautiful landscape. This lower level walk is too good to be a rainy day plan b, with sections of the Cumbrian Way, Blea Tarn and ever changing views providing sustained interest. The walk between the two car parks is quite nice. It is generally sheep country rather than farmyards and cattle pastures found on much of the first section. The tables offer breathtaking views. The descent back to the start is along a steep and rough path past the waterfalls of Dungeon Ghyll Force where concentration and care with footing are needed.
